Meet Sarah Rose
I was born in Vancouver, Canada, and first came to Australia as a backpacker 27 years ago. What was meant to be an adventure quickly became home, and Australia is now where I’ve built my life, my career, and my business.
Outside of finance, you’ll usually find me outdoors. Each year, I ride in the scenic Snowy Mountains with mates, and I’m a passionate Vizsla owner who loves the company of dogs as much as the open air. My weekends are often a mix of ocean swims, horse rides, time in the garden, and the very Aussie ritual of mowing the lawn.
Travel still plays a big role in my life. My next adventure is Mongolia, where I’ll be riding in the Mongolian Derby. And while a refreshing margarita on a sunny Aussie beach is my current go-to, I’ll always have fond memories of piña coladas in the rain back in Vancouver.

What’s your favourite thing about being a mortgage broker?
Building relationships.
What’s the biggest thing people misunderstand about home loans?
That you need a 20% deposit. That the lowest interest rate is always the best. Or that how much you can borrow is set in stone.
What’s one thing you wish every new client understood before they came to see you?
Each bank can only fit you into one of the limited products they have. Sometimes a square doesn’t fit into the circle, but they don’t offer the circle. A broker has access to thousands of products across tens of lenders, so there’s always one that fits your unique circumstances. Never say never, just keep trying until you find the perfect fit.
Where is your next holiday destination?
Mongolia! I’ve entered the Mongolian Derby.
What does a great weekend look like for you?
Morning coffee and a swim in the ocean, followed by a horse ride, some gardening, and a ride on the mower in the afternoon.
